Chirpie Robins

Chirpie Robins, a Mandala by The Mandala Group 2016

One to celebrate our little bird so often used as an emblem of Christmas - the Christmas Robin. Hear them singing, tweeting and chirping all winter long. This year's piece is also a mixed media party!

This year's seasonal mandala is by Mandala Group members - Cathy, Jenni, JoJo & Shastina.

Winter is on its way!

It's been a while since I posted anything, so here's a wintry themed mandala... The central section reminds me of icy, snowy shapes on the window panes, like those I saw last winter, plus an all important bit of colour to liven things up.

Soaring up into the Stars

Hot Air Balloons Mandala by Shastina 2015
Let these balloons whisk you away and then you'll be soaring up, up, up into the world of make believe skies, good wishes and light filled dreams. You might even catch a star on your way down to earth again. Enjoy the journey.

Paper Fans 1

Springtime Fans as a Snapshot of an Energetic Journey by Shastina 2015

These pink fans look to me like they are revolving around a central energy force. As the light flows from the central flower and shines from the green stars, it beams onto the other shapes forming the centre of the energetic journey and causing them, including the fans to revolve.  Everything is to be held like this for a moment, a snapshot of an energetic journey.  Yet even in its still state, you can see the way it all looks when revolving.

As the fans resemble ones you could make by concertina folding paper and then, spreading one end of it out to create a fan shape. I thought that paper fans would be the name I'd use for this collection of mandalas. This is the first of the collection.
